Wind Surf cruise ship docks in Fishguard
Fishguard Harbour welcomed the wind-assisted cruise ship MYA Wind Surf to Wales last week.
Greeting the ship was Mayor of Fishguard Margaret Stringer, along with local people dressed in traditional Welsh costume. Local harpist Ion Evans entertained the hundreds of tourists disembarking for day excursions
Ian Davies, Route Manager for Stena Line Irish Sea South voiced his pleasure at the Wind Surf’s visit: “I am delighted that by working with Cruise Wales and the Welsh Assembly Government we have managed to attract this prestigious vessel to Wales for the first time."
MYA Wind Surf is the flagship vessel of Wind Star cruises. It has seven computer-operated sails that can help take the vessel up to a speed of 15 knots.
