A line-up of top chefs will be telling some fishy tales when they serve up Pembrokeshire Fish Week’s popular master class demo night.
Fresh from their fishing forays in the county‘s sea and rivers, the quartet will launch into a fun battle of the sexes on stage at the Torch Theatre as they transform their catch of the day into delectable dishes.
Pitting their wits and skills against each other in the Fillies, Fellas and Fish event are Ravinder Bhogal and Angela Gray, Stephen Terry and Tim Maddams.
Keeping the fishy four in order will be the host for the night, broadcaster, food writer and restaurateur Simon Wright.
The on-stage master class has become one of the highlights of the award-winning Pembrokeshire Fish Week.
“Audiences love the interaction between the chefs, and the fact they may be in one of the winning seats that have the chance to taste their creations during the evening,” said Pembrokeshire County Council’s food officer, Kate Morgan. “This year, it’s going to be even more entertaining as our fab four recount their exploits from the day’s sea and fly-fishing as they cook their catch.”
Fillies, Fellas and Fish takes place Thursday June 27th at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £17 (£15 concessions), which includes a glass of wine, courtesy of Celtic Wines, and during the evening a raffle will be held in aid of Casting for Recovery. This is a charity for women whose lives have been affected by breast cancer, and provides fully-funded retreats in natural settings to enable them to learn the art of fly-fishing.
Pembrokeshire Fish Week 2013, which runs from June 22nd-30th, is a festival celebrating fresh local fish, an iconic Welsh coastline and its fishing heritage. It features family fun days and marine-themed activities alongside seafood tastings, workshops and classes.
Pembrokeshire Fish Week festival is organised by Pembrokeshire County Council and part-funded by the Welsh Government.
